Dear Gravity Camp Parents!
Summer camps are upon us!
Here’s everything you need to know about preparing your camper for Gravity Camp:
Drop Off and Pick Up Times:
Drop off is between 8:30-8:45am each day. Pick up is between 2:45-3pm each day. Please do not drop your camper off or pick them up outside of these times! If you think you will be late, please call us and let us know.
Pick Up and Drop Off Procedure:
Each day you are required to sign your camper in AND out before you leave. Please do not drop them outside the door and drive away! If you would like your camper to be picked up by a different person than yourself, please email me with the names of anyone who you authorize to pick your camper up. WE WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO GO HOME WITH ANYONE NOT ON THE LIST! If someone attempts to sign them out who is not on the list, we will call you first for approval, even if it takes an hour to get in touch with you! We take child safety very seriously.
Each day, please make sure your child is dressed in tight, comfortable, stretchy clothing. They will be climbing, and going upside down at times.
Here’s what we recommend:
Capri leggings are great! Boys sometimes prefer exercise pants, or long shorts
Running shoes are necessary for crossfit and climbing
Socks are necessary for climbing
Ideally something that covers the armpits - a t-shirt is fine, but avoid tank tops please unless they bring an extra t-shirt with them
Clothes that have metal on them (belts, zippers, buttons, clasps)
Jewelry on their hands or wrists
Lunch and Snacks:
Gravity Camp is MUCH physical activity, and we do not provide lunch. Please send your child with a high-calorie lunch each day, and extra snacks if your child is a snacker. We will have some extra snacks available for calorie-depleted kiddo’s, but if you prefer certain foods, please send them with their own.
In session 3 (July 8-12), we have a camper with a severe peanut allergy. If your child is in this session, please DO NOT send any foods with your child that contain peanuts. I’ll send a reminder out closer to the time to this group of campers.
This is critical! Each camper must have their own water bottle LABELLED with their name. We have cups on site, but we are working to reduce the waste of paper cups. All campers are required to bring their own water bottle for the week. We have filtered water here for them to be able to fill their bottles as needed, and we will take regular water breaks to keep everyone hydrated.
You are welcome to send your camper with a phone if you need to stay in contact with them, but we will be asking them to leave them in their cubby for the duration of the camp, in the hope that we can draw them away from technology and into the land of movement, play and friendships. If you need to contact them urgently, please call us on the number below!
As part of your enrollment fee, your camper will receive a t-shirt on the final day of camp. We will have a few extras in each size, but if you believe your campers’ t-shirt to be a different size to what you submitted on their form, please let me know ASAP.
